I''ve been in contact with the developer of W3 Total Cache and we've been unable to reproduce any issues in direct conflict with s2Member thus far. I suspect that most of the issues reported here in our forum, were related to the way in which W3 Total Cache was configured. Not surprising, given the number of options this plugin makes available to a site owner. If you're looking to run W3 Total Cache with s2Member, you'll need to be VERY familiar with the way each of its features works.

Here is one way to avoid major issues.

- Don't enable OBJECT caching with W3 Total Cache. Page caching should be good enough for most sites anyway. Unless you know exactly what you're doing, OBJECT caching can cause major issues on a membership site where users/members are accessing the site regularly (i.e. and details in the DB are updated frequently, sometimes multiple times in the context of a single page view).

I want to use the Fast Secure Contact Form plugin so my members can email me with questions or concerns. Problem is that after a logged in member sends the message, they are treated as non-registered and redirected to my sales page. FSCF has a setting to redirect to a specific address after sending. I tried the member homepage and the member login page but no joy. Either sends the member out of the course. Is there a simple way to have a member e-mail me from within S2 and then return them to where they were or just keep them in the course somehow? Doesn't need to be FSCF, I'm open to any simple solution.

Thanks!
The Portable Prof

Update Fixed it! Using the Grunion Contact Form plugin
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gru ... tact-form/
Put customized Grunion shortcode on my "Contact Me" page. Just under that is a link back to the member home page. Sender gets confirmation of message just sent and the clickable link to go back. I get a detailed e-mail. Works well so far. (Still testing the site, going live soon. Thanks to Jason and others who help on the forums. S2Member is one of the best supported plugins I've seen.)

I want to be able to use s2 member registration form for free (level 0) members. At the moment, it seems that the BuddyPress template form is used by default and it allows the creation of custom passwords for members which I don't want. Is there a way I can over-ride Buddy Press and force it to use s2 member for all registration types?

Many thanks,

Instead, use WP Show IDs, developed also by Jason Caldwell:

Code:
http://yoursite.com/register/

/wp-login.php?action=register should automatically redirect to that new location for you.

Does that help? If no, then yea, I would start debugging by eliminating other plugins until the /register/ page for BuddyPress shows up. Also, make sure your theme is not making any modifications to this location either.

FYI, these are the plugins I am running on my site presently

    1-click Retweet/Share/Like
    AddThis
    Akismet
    BP-Registration-Options
    BP Group Frontpage
    BuddyPress
    BuddyPress Chat Component
    BuddyPress Mobile
    BuddyPress Profiles Manager
    BuddyPress Template Pack
    Custom Contact Forms
    DBC Backup
    DW ReWrite
    Dynamic Widgets
    Embed Article
    Events Manager
    Exclude Pages from Navigation
    Exec-PHP
    GYS Themed Categories
    Inactivity Auto Sign Out Plugin
    s2Member
    SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam
    WP donimedia carousel
    WP e-Commerce
    WP Show IDs
    WPtouch

Obviousy, some of these are duplicates of others, and so the list can be thinned out - but there is further capability which I want to build in in the future, and alas I am not well enough versed in php to sort through any problems myself - in fact, it may as well be Klingon

Any suggested alternatives? For example, I have been a long, happy user of TinyMCE Advanced so its a trade-off I may not want to make. S2 looks good, so how can I get the best of both worlds? Any suggestions appreciated.

I would try the latest version of TinyMCE Advanced and see it how it goes. Our last test was performed several weeks ago. Perhaps Shortcodes are working properly in this editor now. If not, I would write to the TinyMCE Advanced developer and see if they can assist with this. Shortcodes are not specific to s2Member, they're a major WordPress core feature.

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/theme-my-login/
( but there are workarounds?, try this thread )

CKEditor ( the last version we tested did not handle Shortcodes properly )
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ckeditor-12/

TinyMCE Advanced ( the last version we tested did not handle Shortcodes properly )
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tinymce-advanced/

Some caching plugins cause problems.
I recommend Quick Cache if you're going to cache.
( We developed Quick Cache, and it's been tested against s2Member )
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/quick-cache/
WP Super Cache also works nicely.

Register Plus Redux ( in direct conflict )
Possible workarounds DO exist though:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10400&p=22686#p22686
Update: this plugin appears to have security vulnerabilities as well. My advice, stay away from this and use the latest features possible with s2Member and s2Member Pro.
