This this would explain the issue with this plugin. I'll test one of the others as well. In the mean time, you might take a look at your FB-generated accounts and see what email addresses are associated with them. If they're bogus, that will explain the issue.

I actually tried several of them with the same result.

WP-FB-AutoConnect (this is the one I have installed right now)
FB Connect
AWD Facebook

I'm running WP 3.1.4 but noticed it happening in 3.1.3 just before I upgraded.

And I'm using S2M 110620 but I'm not sure if the problem started before that upgrade. :oops:

Before, I was able to get the emails to go out automatically by choosing the option to not display the check box. Now I can't get it to work no matter which option I choose.

Instead, I have to manually enter each user profile and "re-process" the email request.

Any ideas of how I could ensure that every new member automatically receives an email optin confirmation regardless of how they register to the site?
