unfortunately I am very short of time at the moment, so I can't wait for a decent solution. Despite my preference for your plugin, for the moment I use the "Membership" plugin, as this does not hook onto the WP member administration and allows to assign memberships independently. But I will keep looking of course to solve the question PROPERLY ;)

Kind regards from Austria,

yes, this is a WP specific problem with sharing user tables and therefore I place my question in WP forums first. As I didn't get an answer to date, I thought, maybe I had a chance, that you already stumbled about a similar question...

Anyway, thank you for your kind answer!

This is not an s2Member problem, rather a very custom WordPress one. The users list link in s2Member's navigation is just a duplicate of the one in the Users menu. s2Member uses the standard WordPress tables and functions for users and usermeta (like capabilities).

The key here will be that you get the users sharing working properly. I'm afraid that I don't know how to help you with that, though. Maybe another user has some experience with this, find this thread and share his experience.

I think you should ask for help in the forums where you found information on how to do it, they seem to have experience with the users sharing between installations. That's what I'd do if I had to do it.

I hope that helps. :)

I run a "mastersite" and a "membership-site" with two separate WP installations (both 3.2.1). For the membership site I use the wp_user and wp_usermeta tables from the mastersite.
The problem: User roles (while assigned properly as shows a single profile) are neither shown in user-listing of WP nor in user listing of s2m (well, practically the same listing).

While I can live with roles not showing for subscribers, I can't work with roles not showing at all.

I read a lot about sharing user tables in wordpress forums and user sites, and I learnt, that the capabilities have to be written to the wp_usermeta for BOTH site-prefixes. But this does not help me to solve the problem.

Any idea or hint?

Thank you in advance and kind regards,
eliZZZa
