That's the expected behavior, as far as I understand it. Editing the user's profile in WordPress won't affect the PayPal subscription.

It seems like my PayPal Pro subscription cancellation forms are working fine, demoting users and canceling recurring payment profiles within PayPal.

I manually demoted a user recently by specifying an EOT date within their profile. While the account was demoted from Level #1 to Free, their PayPal recurring payments profile was not deleted, and I needed to manually delete it on the PayPal web site.

Is this the expected behavior? ...or should setting an EOT automatically cancel the recurring payment profile within PayPal?
