Yes, you can sell with ClickBank and sending them to an un-protected page in your website for the thank-you, but that won't make s2Member let the user create the account he paid for, or give him the access to view the protected content, or remove the access if it should expire (stops paying, asks refund, etc).

For ClickBank to integrate with s2Member so the access update is automated, you need the extra that the Pro add-on provides. You can sell without the s2Member integration, but then you'll need to upgrade the user's account manually so he can access the restricted access.

I hope that helps understand it better.

OVERVIEW
Initially we are mainly selling 2 tiers of downloadable products on clickbank and are using very basic abilities of s2member, but looking to also create a community for our members later, in integration with buddypress.

From all I can tell the free version does all we need and we only consider the paid version because it specifically mentions clickbank integration.

QUESTIONS
What can the pro version to that the free one cannot when it comes to integrating with clickbank?

It seems to me that we can insert the clickbank payment link on any page and then have clickbank redirect to an unindexed, protected download page.

Is the pro version only important if it's for paying recurring membership fees with according site access? So since in our case we are (initially) only selling downloadable products, the free one will work just fine for that?

Or am I missing something?

Thank you so much for your help in advance!

Cheers

Michael
