Yes, that is most definitely possible.
s2Member integrates with BuddyPress in a variety of ways. I would recommend installing s2Member v111017+ together with BuddyPress v1.5+. The latest versions of s2Member come with built-in tips in your s2Member -> General Options panel, when/if BuddyPress is also installed/activated.

Regarding restrictions for BuddyPress. These are normally handled with s2Member's URI Restrictions.

But how does this apply to BuddyPress? Can I make it so that a prospective-member has to pay first in order to create their profile? Then have the option of billing via a 1-time fee or monthly subscription? I mean, that is the whole point :P
