Buddypress multisite

I have a current wp website running under s2member pro. If I convert this to a multisiteI, and place buddy press on a sub domain, will current and future members of my site be able to log in and post on buddy press, or will they need a separate login to use buddypress.
Just can't seem to find much about wp, s2m and bp.
