I'm glad you solved it with the update, I was assuming you had the latest versions of each installed.

By the way, s2Member 3.5.8 is the latest release. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/s2member/changelog/

You may need to go through your users list and find those with that field missing and fill it. WP Admin -> Users :|

What I have noticed is this. Users were filling out the form, but their first name was not getting populated (I duplicated this behavior).

However I just upgraded from 3.5.4 to 3.5.6 (Pro 1.5.8) and in my single test, it looks like First Name is now registering correctly (I am waiting to observe this from customers too).

My problem right now is that I have a mix of users who do not have their first name populated, and the Pro upgrade does not let them fill it in,

These are required by default in WordPress and not having them populated may cause trouble, and that's just what you may be experiencing. If you're going to leave them out during registration, they should at least be populated in some way to avoid trouble with other things that expect them there.

Please, try to upgrade an account that does have the first and last names and let me know if you still get the error.

Here is the shortcode of one example (but it appears to be happening with all upgrades if the user does not have first name and last name filled out in their user profile - via WP-Admin)

[s2Member-Pro-PayPal-Form level="2" ccaps="" desc="$14.99 USD / Monthly ( recurring charge, for ongoing access )" ps="paypal" cc="USD" ns="1" custom="spiritualnotreligious.net" ta="0" tp="0" tt="D" ra="14.99" rp="1" rt="M" rr="1" modify="1" accept="paypal,visa,mastercard,amex,discover,maestro,solo" accept_via_paypal="paypal" coupon="" accept_coupons="0" default_country_code="" captcha="0" /]

Got it, thank you.

Are you using s2Member Pro's pro-forms or something else? Could you share the shortcode you're using?

Does it happen with every registration or just paid ones? Is there anything else you could provide? A screenshot?

The issue is becoming more of an issue as we scale up our member numbers. I will see if there is another plug-in that might be involved.

Note that the issue keeps people from upgrading to a paid membership. Even if they fill out the First Name field while trying to upgrade, they get an error stating that the First Name field is missing.

There may be a conflict with another plugin, try deactivating them one by one and see if one of them off fixes your problem.

This is not great to begin with, but it also is making it impossible for those users to upgrade to paid memberships. I have to hope that users who cannot upgrade inform me about the error they are seeing so I can manually update their first name in WP-Admin.

Please help ASAP as this is causing me lost revenue.
