You need to use a plugin like this one to give them that ability. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/user-role-editor/

viewtopic.php?f=4&p=9026#p9026
viewtopic.php?f=4&p=13058#p13058

I hope that helps. :)

I'm trying to set up a site on WP with S2 that allows members (users) to create a blog post but have no other access to the back end. Is this possible? and if so... how!
Basically, as part of membership members are allowed to create 'news' articles for their business and it makes sense to use the blog function.

If this is not possible, does anyone know of a plugin that gives members front end access to add messages (that is not a forum)
Thanks in advance!

Jeni
