Quick Cache Serving Pages through HTTPS at random

Hey there, thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

First off, I love this plugin because of its simplicity, and I've recommended it for use on several websites for clients because they can use it without getting scared. Thanks to the developer(s) for all the work they've done.

At first, I thought this problem was an issue with a single website I was using, but I'm seeing it on two sites now that both use Quick Cache so I'm trying to isolate what the problem could be.

Both sites have a lot of posts and pages, one site is a very high-traffic blog, the other has many pages and posts. When I'm not logged in and clicking around the site (admiring the quick page loads) occasionally, I'll run into a page that loads completely unformatted, as if the style sheet is not loading. When looking at the page source, it turns out that the links to all the site assets have https:// prepended to them instead of the http protocol. Since there is no SSL installed on the server, the assets throw a 404 error and the pages load unstyled. Hitting the clear cache button after logging in fixes this problem, but then I'll find another page or post that has this same problem later on. In one case the home page had the problem, which obviously was a big problem, so I've had to disable the plugin on the production site. The site itself is here, but I can't turn the caching plugin back on until we get this resolved so I don't know if the site will be able to show what's going on:

I didn't build this site, just did some upgrades and template changes over the past 6 months, but I've got it on pretty good authority that they NEVER had ssl installed on their servers, so the https protocol was never used before I came on. Not sure why it's showing up now.

I've isolated Quick Cache as the problem, as I've disabled all other plugins, checked server logs, and it doesn't happen at all when the cache is turned off and/or I'm logged in, but happens after repeatedly re-installing, upgrading or clearing the cache.

Both servers are running PHP 5.2 and one server was running Wordpress 3.2 until yesterday. The problem happened on 3.2 and continues with the latest versions of Wordpress AND Quick Cache. Any information or ideas will be appreciated. I'd really hate to try to find a different caching plugin or go back to Super Cache, but I can't use this in production if it keeps happening. Serve cached pages to logged in users only

Is there a way to serve cached pages only to members who are logged in and also cache pages with members who are logged in. I'm also not caching certain pages regardless of user.

I am considering this plugin because I love s2member pro, so I figure you guys know what you're doing!

Anyway, each of my posts has a donation button with an amount that updates every time someone donates (it is a fundraising site for orphans - each orphan has his own post with donation button). Is there anyway to cache the posts and still have the amounts updated? Or is there an easy way to only cache the home page?

Hello,

I build a website, then I moved it to the domain where it should live. All works fine now except quick cache. In the Quick Cache Options panel is just a button "save all changes" I know how it should look, cose I have it working on other websites. I reinstalled the plugin I checked if there was anything left in the plugin-directory which there wasn't. But after the re installation I still get just this button "save all changes".

Anybody knows a solution?

Is it a Virtual Dedicated Server, or are you on their cloud?

It looks like quick cache needs right about 2G of RAM on the server to work correctly, what are your server specifications?

i find that to be unusual, as i just started this site. in fact, though we are live, we will actually start trying to promote next week. so being large doesnt really fit in this case

I'm not an expert on how these work, but it sounds like for some larger sites, Quick Cache runs out of memory while caching pages. I would ask your hosting provider if they know any way to allocate more memory the the quick cache plugin.

i have the same issue. I just activated and enable quick cache. As i am a novice at this, i wanted a good cache, and an easy one. This was very easy, however after i enabled the program, i logged out as instructed and did not see anything in the view source. i refreshed and still nothing.

i went back in and manually cleared the cache. and i do see it worked on the view source. However, this is set up with your original config. I need to have this working automatically. Can you tell me what is wrong and how i can fix this. i am currently on 3.3 Please help as i have no other cache program nor have i ever used one.

You should be able to set the amount of memory to use at that link that the error gave you.

Hi Bruce C. Thanks a lot for you quick reply. You are right the error I got doesn´t have to do with quick cache. In fact it was caused by generate cache plugin. I have removed it, but now I get the following error in my error log and I still can´t make quick cache auto-generate the cache.

now the embedded content doesn't even update unless I clear the cache.
Surely it must be a solution to this, I thought on No cache URI patters, I added /index to the line because thats where my embedded content is but it didnt work

according to this, you have a plugin called Generate Cache, try disabling and deleting it and see if it helps.

First of all I would like to thank you for the great plugin that is, in my opinion, the best caching plugin so far. I have installed it in one of my site. I enabled it, included the path to the sitmap.xml and I enabled the auto caching engine in the hope of generating the cached version of all my pages. But unfortunatly It doesn´t generate the cache automatically and I should admit that this is the most important feature for me in quick cache. I checked everywhere but no clues. I include the following error log in case it helps solve the problem I have.

Having the same problem..... Quick Cache does not show up in the sidebar and I get an error when trying to access the settings page ( from the wordpress plugins page )

it says 'You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.'

I'm using 3.3.1.... just not multi-site

I am also having this issue, I hope Jason can come to this thread and give his input and offer a fix. He did this for 500 errors, viewtopic.php?f=5&t=591.

After the well succeed installation, when I was trying access to settings I've got this message in my browser:

You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

I'd like to be able to do this too.

Is there some sort of hook I could use to allow editors to have the Clear Cache button?
I thought I could change the plugin file, but that would not work when an update came around.

Any help would be appreciated.

Google has a add +1 button that requires snippit placed into the website. I tried using your generator but the button still does not show up. I am asking if you would give it a shot to see if you can figure it out. Thank you
