How do I know if Gzip is working?

So I *think* I created a .htaccess file and added the gzip code correctly. However, how do I find out if my site is actually zipping the content? I used two different "gzip checker" tools online, but one said the site was zipped and one said the site was not. Help?
If anyone wants to check it on their own, my site is http://www.improveyoursocialskills.com
