If it's about having the person logged in to both scripts, you should ask in the bbPress support forum to help you, I'm really not experienced with it.

If you mean redirecting the person to the bbPress profile as the login welcome redirection, then you can use s2Member's with the replacement codes needed to get the URL to his profile page.

What is the URL to your bbPress profile page?

""Let me see if I understand correctly: when a user logs in, you want him/her to be taken to http://www.site.org/site/discussion/ Is that correct? Then you'd enter that URL in the field for the Login Welcome Page Special Redirection URL found here WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> Login Welcome Page -> Special Redirection URL."

My special Redirection URL is fine and after updating to the latest version of S2Members i have been able to add the destination url to the email notification.

My question is : S2members allow special url for bbpress ( like %%current_user%%/profile%%) whereby when the users logs in or assuming they were redirected to another page e.g private area, they dont have to login again to access the forum.

This is what I am trying to achieve whereby my users can use a standard login plugin and this automatically grants them access to my forum area without having to login again? It passes their details across.
I have integrated wordpress and bbpress but i dont know why its not carrying their login details unto bbpress.
I hope my explanation is clear.

thanks
carl

No, that's not what I meant. First I asked you

and you answered

I guess there may be a confusion with the use of the term "redirection" here. When I talked about the redirection, I'm talking about the one for the Login Welcome Page. The Login Welcome Page is the page the user is taken to when he logs in. Re-reading your posts, I'm starting to feel you're talking about the URL you're sending the person in an email so he logs in. I'm sorry about any confusion I may have caused.

Let me see if I understand correctly: when a user logs in, you want him/her to be taken to http://www.site.org/site/discussion/ Is that correct? Then you'd enter that URL in the field for the Login Welcome Page Special Redirection URL found here WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> Login Welcome Page -> Special Redirection URL.

When a user register on my wordpress site, bbpress automtically assign them membership and access to
login.
Users use one login to access wordpress and bbpress. login is shared.

You asked me to change my login page(wp-login.php)? can you tell me how to do this, because am using the free S2members, i dont have the pro version and i have checked and i dont have the option of choosing the login page? please advise.

will you be able to provide me with assistance on the issues I have raised so far?

thank you
carl

Thank you for getting back to me - i appreciate your help.
I redirected users to http://www.site.org/site/wp-login.php

the url that I want users to be redirected to is - http://www.site.org/site/discussion/

But as i mentioned earlier once user have registered via paypal s2member it sends them an email
with login redirection to http://www.site.org/site/wp-login.php and then
they login and they are taken to http://www.site.org/site/discussion/ and they login
to participate in the forum.

but I want their login from http://www.site.org/site/wp-login.php to take them straight
into the forum.

really looking forward to your reply.

OK. First, setting the Login Page (wp-login.php) as the Login Welcome Page would be a bit loopy, it's good that you changed that.

So you have the person login to WordPress and then they get redirected to the forum, but there they are required to login again to participate.

You're using bbPress, have you integrated it with WordPress? I'm not familiar with bbPress, but it seems the login is not being shared.

-- I did the integration of wordpress and bbpress
-- it worked well and my users can login with same user name and password.

-- The problem i have is once the user login
-- I set up a redirection url, the user is taken to the redirection url which is bbpress home page,
-- the user will then need to sign in again. i dont like this process
-- I thought due to the integration it should carry their information across

I did redirection using www.mydomain.com/folder/folder/users/%%current_user_login%%
but the data was not parse through.

Can you help or i have to ask on bbpress forum, i have spent hours looking for a solution.
Please bear with me am fairly new to all this.

thank you.

carl
