This feature is still on our TODO list, but it's been pushed back until after the next major release of s2Member Pro. In early 2012 we are planning to release some significant fundamental changes in the way s2Member and s2Member Pro function with WordPress; in order to bring some more power to s2Member overall. Until that's completed, we've decided to hold off on anything further with phpBB.

In the mean time, you might consider hiring this out. Very sorry for the change in plans.

Tremendous work with this plugin!

I read elsewhere on the forum that version 3.6 would have phpBB integration. I know here a month ago, on this thread, you're saying you don't have an ETA yet. Any change on that? I'm busy implementing a site that needs s2member for some quite complex Amazon S3 VOD, while at the same time, the client has an existing phpBB forum that I'd like to integrate, all in one swoop, as it were.

Please let me know, even the roughest timeline.

Keep up the fabulous work!

Hi Santi. Thanks for your inquiry.

Sorry, we're not ready to provide a release date on this yet. It is still on our TODO list, but it might be August/September on this. It could be earlier, I just don't have the ability to nail down a specific date at the moment.

It's October :D

Any more thoughts (or action) on forum integration :?:

Thanks.

As an aside for S2M fans that just want a basic forum plugin that simply installs and runs...

I used this on one site and the members loved it.

I can confirm that this IS still on the table, but it's not going to be ready anytime soon, as it's further down on our TODO list at the moment. So sorry. If you really need this feature asap, you might consider jobs.wordpress.net.

On my membership site I've recently tested s2member with simple:press, and it works - but simple:press is not my top choice when it comes to forum applications. My main issue is it's appearance, it would require some serious customization work to make it look way more neat and simple...

So I would also by happy to beta-test phpBB with s2member, as soon as integration is available.

In the meantime I will just use simple:press as it actually works and it is really not difficult to integrate.

Do you need any beta testers?

We're still using phpBB Single Sign On but have had to modify it significantly to work the way we wanted and stop some of it's less desirable effects to do with incorrectly syncing passwords.
It also means S2Member can't work the way we want it to and have to manage each member manually. It's lucky our forum is not very big!

I'm happy to offer any help you might need with testing.

It looks like this question viewtopic.php?f=4&t=14104 fell into the cracks! :(

I do not mean to bother, but I am at decision point for my membership technology, and the other finalist, DAP, happens to have a good integration with vBulletin: it allowing a per "product/level" access to different forums (in other words, synching roles between wp and vBulletin). I believe that is your plan for phpBB integration, correct?

Apart from that, DAP has other possible advantages like integrated affiliate platform, one time offers and up sells, but the support, flexibility, extensibility and detailed documentation of s2member tempt us a lot -- It might require more "coding" to accomplish some things, but at the same time it will allow for easier "coding" for more complex things we intent to accomplish -- for one thing DAP creates a separate user table to manage the members, which has some potential advantages but also potential inconvenieces....

In other words, I am a bit torn apart, and the Forum integration question could be the balancing one for the final decision... If phpBB is in the very near future, s2member becomes a much more solid contester to DAP at this point...

I have been looking into memberships softwares for a long time, s2member being my first and longest chosen research solution, but now is when the rubber must hit the road...

Your support and comments are always appreciated.

Thank you,

Santi
