While you're there, you may want to download the s2member-pro.zip file, in case you can't login later during upgrade.

Then you upgrade automatically/manually your s2Member framework, available from WordPress.org and after that the Pro add-on, again automatically or manually.

I hope that helps. :)

Functionality being disabled on your installation has nothing to do with your location. Disabled functionality in your case, was attributed to the fact that you upgraded the s2Member framework to a version that was incompatible with the version of s2Member Pro that you had at the time. Thus, the functionality provided by the older/incompatible version of s2Member Pro MUST be disabled automatically to prevent server errors and other potential problems on your WordPress installation.

That's the only time this may happen, during an upgrade, and only if your account at s2Member.com is locked, preventing you from completing an upgrade.

Your location is only relevant to your account access at s2Member.com, and has nothing to do with your own site. In your case, you were upgrading, and since your account was locked, you were unable to complete the upgrade in a timely fashion.

I have not been traveling, so some strange abuse must have happened indeed (scary).

This is my last question on this; imagine I am on a trip for 2 weeks. During the beginning of those 2 weeks an update for s2member is released. Does this mean, that my website will not work for 2 weeks (so no login-widget, no pro forms, members can't log-in)? And only if I get the latest version of s2member PRO (2 weeks later) it will work again?

With other words, it is crucial to follow-up on PRO updates every day, maybe every hour(?!). Or if we know when an update will be released in the future tha's not the case.

I'm asking because the above seems so unhandy.

Regards,
Wout

Yes, but only during the upgrade process. That is, if your site is left without the latest version of s2Member Pro, all functionality provided by s2Member Pro remains disabled until a compatible version can be obtained from inside your account at s2Member.com.

Under normal circumstances, you can simply provide your s2Member.com User/Pass during upgrade, and everything takes place automatically. However, since your account at s2Member.com was abused in some way, your User/Pass had become locked on our end. On our end, it looks like someone obtained a copy of your s2Member Username/Password and it sent your IP connections over our maximum allowed limitation.

Resetting your Username/Password should resolve this for you. Or, if you've been traveling around a bit, and you've attempted to access your account from several different geographic locations ( or IP addresses ), you may also have this trouble. Very sorry for the inconvenience.

I was wondering if this would happen again in the future, will my Pro functionalities be disabled again? This kind of scares me. Up until today all pro things, such as the login widget, the pro forms disapeard in my dashboard. If I had these active on my website, would they have disapeared there as well?

Thanks!
Wout

I've just had IP restrictions lifted on your account, and your existing password has been deleted as a security precaution. You may now use this link to obtain/reset your password and gain access to your account. Reset password here please: http://www.s2member.com/wp-login.php?ac ... stpassword

May I suggest that you reset your password to something other than what it was before, just in case someone else was attempting to access your account.

This will ensure that future IP restrictions are avoided.

When I log in to s2member.com I get the following;

503: Service Temporarily Unavailable
Too many IP addresses accessing one secure area!
Please contact Support if you need assistance.

I only logged in on this computer since my registration, so I have no idea what could be going on. My IP address is stable as well.

Thanks!
Wout
