s2Member doesn't do email confirmation with custom password yet. This has been requested, though, so it may be implemented at some point. :)

I think this is what Eduan was originally looking for (a confirmation link in the e-mail to the user). Not letting the user choose their password is a form of confirmation, but it is confusing to users who then need to log in, find their profile and change their password if they want to use their own password. Is there any way to both allow the user to choose their password and confirm their e-mail address?

Thanks.

I was dealing with this issue for almost 2 days now, so I really appreciate your help very much.

Thanks again and god bless,
Christoph

Okay, if you use PayPal try going to WP Admin -> s2Member -> PayPal® Options -> Signup Confirmation Email, you will find there something that might help. If you use something other that PayPal please tell me.

Hope this helps. :)

1. I looked up my email configuration in the s2member-area again and tried to be more accurate, but still I cannot find an option, where new registered users get an email, in which they have to confirm the adress that they stated in the registration process. of course new users get a "thanks for registering"-email, but still they are free to type in any mail-adress they want, without having to validate it. in that email should be a link to click, to confirm the true mail-adress. without clicking that link, they shouldn´t be able to log in.
do you get my point?

2. I am using the non-pro-version, so thank you very much for your link! :D

Thank you very much again for caring!

2. Have you got the PRO version? If so try the "Pro Login Widget", you'll find it under WP Admin -> Widgets. If not try this post made in WordPress: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/logo ... ?replies=5.

Hope this helps. :)
P.S. Remember to report back. ;)

At first I´d like to say thank you for offering that great plugin. I´m using the actual version of the s2member on wordpress 3.2.1, trying to create a (free) member-area with small goodies like ringtones for free.
I don´t plan to use any paying method on my site - no paypal or anything else.
I configured s2member as far as I know (my knowledge of WP is on an absolute beginner-level) and everything, except two, is working great so far.
1. When a new user registers, he should get an email in which he has to confirm his mailadress. I simply can´t find that point in the s2member-configuration and I also couldnt find that matter here in the forum. The user gets an email, but only to the email-adress he subsribed with - no matter if this adress is true or not. Great would be the integration of link he has to click, to confirm this adress. Any chance for that in s2member?
2. Is there an easy way to integrate a "Logout"-button in the member-area?

Would be great, if I could find some help here.
Thanks a lot in advance!
Best regards from germany,
Christoph
