The information you received from PayPal is incorrect. I recently switched from ERP to Website Payments Pro and was told the same thing about my existing subscribers needing to resubscribe.

The fact is, all my subscribers who joined when I had ERP are still active and I'm still receiving monthly payments from them even though I cancelled ERP and upgraded to PayPal Pro. Please see this post for more information: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=2634&p=53563#p53563

Last night I tried to upgrade my Paypal Standard account to Pro. Got the following message:

We're sorry but Website Payments Pro and Virtual Terminal are
not available for customers that have signed up for Enhanced
Recurring Payments.

If you'd like to sign up for Website Payments Pro or Virtual
Terminal, you'll need to cancel your Enhanced Recurring
Payments package from the Recurring Payments Dashboard.

Talked to tech support who told me I'd need to inform my members that their subscription is being canceled, and ask them to re-subscribe under the new system. I am not willing to risk losing dozens of subscribers who fail to do so. Thus I will NOT be upgrading.

Tech support suggested an alternative - open a new Paypal account and upgrade that to Pro. Then I would have subscribers under 2 Paypal accounts. Too much to keep track of for me.

My main goal for upgrading to Paypal Pro was to enable offering coupon codes.

Instead, I will simply create one or more private discount pages where I can send people. The paypal buttons on those pages will be for specific discounted amounts. Anyone see a potential problem with this workaround?
