Looks like that may help, but that it may be beyond the time/experience level I have to work on it right now. Also not sure if that method will work with the registration format we have in place.
I'll save the links as resources in case it's a topic my client wants to revisit eventually. It may be a bridge that has to be crossed if problems arise with users filling out incorrect registration forms. My client may need to decide whether it is worth hiring a PHP developer, or if the issues can be handled on a manual case-by-case basis.
