"Upgrading" a user within s2Member is simply a matter of changing the User Role. See this thread for more information about how to change the user's role from PHP: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=2599&p=7409&#p7409

Hello, been using s2Member for a few weeks now are we are really taken back by all the functionality! We do have one question thought which we haven't been able to find an answer for:

Is there any s2Member function to upgrade users within a php script?

Why?
We plan on launching a lottery and we would like automate the process of upgrading users to the next rank on "the ladder".
