Thanks for the heads up.
For now, you'll need to comment out line #414 inside:
/s2member/includes/functions/separates/paypal-notify.inc.php

@TODO :: Controls for site owner over transactional one-liners.

Even after disabling the "signup" confirmation emails, my client found another type of confirmation email that is sent by s2Member during an "upgrade" - and I cannot find any way to modify, configure, or disable it (without hacking the files). :o

This is the subject:

Code:
Thank You! Your membership has been updated.

In their installation, every membership purchase is an "update" (because Buy Now is used for everything).

Is there a way to turn off these additional confirmation emails? :?:

Yes, in s2Member v3.1.5+, you can navigate to:
s2Member -> PayPal Options -> Signup Confirmation

Just empty out the recipients field, and that will disable the email completely.

We are using conditionals to require registration at Word Press before a membership can be purchased.

When a membership is purchased, we need to send our own customized confirmation email, which will include an Association Account #. This cannot be appended to "Custom" in the button shortcode, since it is not known - before a purchase is made - what the number will be. Therefore, it cannot be included in the s2member Confirmation Emails either.

Therefore, we prefer to disable the Confirmation Emails entirely.

Is there an obvious way to do that? :?:

Thanks in advance for your attention to these myriad questions. :)
