I know it wasn't with s2member.

That thread got complicated for me and I didn't follow all of it. Hopefully I don't need to = )
Hopefully it's fine the way it is.

Take care, Cristian!

Anyway, I was just testing and I THINK I may have gotten it. I tried using the same login form the paid members will use for a free access member. And it got me in. There is a God!!

Another simple question: I already put my pay pal buttons in using Optimize Press. I don't need to re-do it with s2member do I? ...Or re-do it, for that matter.

I can perfectly understand how frustrating something can be when you just can't seem to get it working the way intended.

OK, the cookie thing should work if it's still there (i.e. the user didn't block/delete it) and your script works properly to handle it. I'd contact the developer that set it up for you so he makes it work (although he can't do anything if the cookie isn't there when the person comes back).

I suggest you do provide the link to the free area in an email so they have it in the future regardless of the cookie. That solves your problem.

Paid members can login clicking the link in the squeeze page, but I suggest you also give them a link to their login page in the thank you email.

I hope that helps. :)

When they opt in with their name and email, they are automatically sent to the Welcome page (www.cardiocamp.net/welcome). They also receive a confirmation email thanking them for their info.
It seems though that the next time they want to visit the site that cookies should bypass them from the squeeze page and take them straight to the welcome page instead of me having to provide, in an email, an alternate home page address of www.cardiocamp.net/welcome.
Now, for paid members, I don't want them to bypass the squeeze page because that's where their log in is at.
Oh My GOSH!! I want to just scream! I don't know what to do here.
I'm going to go through s2member tutorials again and see if it helps.
I'm sorry to be such a headache!

And you can't have the link to the Free area in the squeeze page or they won't sign up.

Are you just redirecting them to the Free area after signing up or do you send them a link to it in an email after they confirm their subscription?

I don't really know how much of a funnel I've got. There's the squeeze page (www.cardiocamp.net). Once someone decides they want free access they are sent to the welcome page (www.cardiocamp.net/welcome). They would then look around the free stuff and then get to the membership details page (www.cardiocamp.net/members). Here is where they can sign up.
The other option from the squeeze page is a paid member login. This takes them to the member's home page (www.cardiocamp.net/workouts).
The problem is when a free access individual returns to www.cardiocamp.net (maybe it's a few days later). There is no way for them to get back to the free access area. The member login only accommodates paid members. And the name and email opt in only accepts new individuals (an error pops up if you try to re-use a name and email). Free access people need to be redirected to the welcome page somehow.

Clear as mud?

Thanks again for the help with the video quality. I'm waiting on some equipment to re-shoot and I'll see if I can manage the things you mentioned! (cross your fingers!)

Hmm... I'm still confused about it. Could you please explain really simple what your funnel is? I think this is the part that's confusing me (or maybe I didn't sleep enough lol).

I'll see what I can do about that. I'm actually planning on re-shooting that squeeze page video. I feel like what I have now is too predictable and gimmicky. (I actually have to re-shoot all the videos you'll see because of the audio.) I uploaded the video to iMovie, exported it using Quicktime, then uploaded it to YouTube, then put it on the site. Is that the best way? Anyway......

I'll be happy to help you sort out the discrepancies if I can, but I don't think I'll be able to Skype (audio problems). Could you please tell me what the discrepancies are, between the squeeze page and what other page? Give me the URLs or screenshots, please.

By the way, your page is looking good. Don't forget to split-test a lot! (bullets, call-to-action, button, etc.) The video took a long time to even start and then rebuffered a lot for me, and my connection is not slow. http://cristianlavaque.com/2010/04/12/v ... f-5-people ;)

For some reason I feel in the dark with what I'm trying to accomplish with these log ins. I've now got a log in link on my squeeze page. But, there are discrepancies.
Is there any way we could set up a few minutes to skype so you could walk me through this and answer some questions I have. I've been a nuisance, I know, and want to get this straightened out once and for all so I can stop bugging you. I'm hoping to launch SOON and cannot figure this out. Thank you so much for your consideration.

I see, so you want a login page that isn't the default one? Well, you could use a login widget. s2Member Pro has one, the Pro Login Widget. There is a free login widget plugin too, but I like s2Member's best and it's certain to be fully compatible.

Another thing you could do is copy the form's HTML from the default login page and paste it in a custom page you create to have more control over it, but the lost paswords page or failed login attempts would still still go to the wp-login.php.

I hope that helps.

www.cardiocamp.net is my site. Once an email and name are submitted, it works fine. You get redirected to my welcome page (which I'm still working on). But, when a user returns, I need a page for them to sign in on (not the original squeeze page). And then I need another log in page for paid members. Does this make sense?

You can also specify different login welcome pages depending on their level and other variables from here WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> Login Welcome Page.

I hope that helps. :)
