That, though, will create a page for each user, which isn't what you're after, but the concept of how it works is valid. Basically you give each person a custom capability with his username, and then restrict the access to their private page with that custom capability.

In your case the membership would not be a portal, but from their profiles you can manually give these capabilities to your wedding photography clients. WP Admin -> Users -> [username] -> s2Member Configuration & Profile Fields -> Custom Capabilities
