Thanks Christian, we decided to go a far simpler route and give users the option to purchase a paypal gift certificate, and leave the registration up to the final user/recipient of the gift.

Multiple Subscriptions as Gifts

I'm running s2member with just one membership level. At the request of my client, I would like to make it easy for users to purchase multiple subscriptions, mainly to give as gifts to others. Another case would be businesses buying multiple subscriptions to distribute to their employees.

The issues that I would need to address to provide this functionality for my client would be:

1) How to determine how many subscriptions a user wants to purchase
2) How to register each user individually with a unique email address

I realize that s2member relies on the WordPress user database to create a new membership, and that there may not be a clean, seamless way to handle this. Any thoughts on workarounds to this issue would be helpful.
