About the instructions, I'm pretty sure there isn't much you need to do after you configure s2Member with PayPal's account details, I understand from that documentation that s2Member takes care of it for you when it parses the shortcode for the button/form.

Why don't you try having your settings over at PayPal default to what your cart needs, and configure your s2Member settings for PayPal to work with them, generate a button and try a test purchase, you can make it a tiny amount for live purchases, or use PayPal's Sandbox for test purchases (no payment will happen). See if the custom IPN/PDT URLs work for them as configured in s2Member instead of PayPal.

Thanks Cristián ... The thread you supplied however didn't seem to make me any wiser as to exactly the steps i have to undertake to get my monetising systems to work.

I didn't mention that, apart from running s2Member on two different blogs now, i also use another plugin called WP e-commerce for another store which runs on one of the two blogs i'm trying to monetise, so in total i have three different monetising systems running on two different blogs (two domains) ..

Me too i called the 'regular' Paypal contact center and as mentioned by Chelle in the thread you provided, it's too technical a matter for them.

But they gave me a link to their other 'Technical Support Center' and the guy from the 'regular' contact center (these folks are always very nice, i think, they just aren't too technical :D ), said i could ask the Technical Support Center to actually call me on the phone ...so i'm waiting for an answer (they'll email me for sure), and i really hope they do effectively call me on the phone!

Anyway i thought it'd be nice of myself :P , if i gave you guys the link to the 'real technical brainiacs' of Paypal's Technical Support Center:

http://www.paypal.com/mts

And i sure hope they can help me, maybe i don't need to do anything anymore and everything works fine (then i will be very happy to hear so and they will take away my worries) ..

Or, in the event i have to undertake certain technical steps, i can only hope i will be able to remember them while they help me through the set up via phone, or take notes or ask them to send me an email with the exact steps but in any way, once i am reassured my systems are in place and working as they should i will come back to this thread and report my findings !

In conclusion, Cristián, thanks again ... i didn't really understand the explanations in the thread you supplied but it is simply beyond my technical capabilities for me to fully grasp what is being explained there.

I think what's missing in the explanations (in the thread as well as in the s2Member start guide is that although the guide and the thread say it's perfectly possible, the exact steps on how to set it up aren't quite clear for me as someone with just basic techie knowledge.

But i hope the Paypal Technical Support will be able to help me out and hope i will be able to reproduce the steps and report back here in simple wordings.

But a big thanks ... it does not always happen that people on forums respond so quickly or even respond at all ... thanks for that!

See ya'all soon hopefully with the full scope to see this technical matter solved once and for all.

All the best

Betty

It's past midnight here now and the last hours i've been working on setting up S2Member on a second blog of mine, situated at:

http://witchyrecords.pro/blog

Everything went fine but it wasn't until i had to set up the paypal options that something felt not quite right.

Although the explanations in s2Member make it very clear there shouldn't be a problem using Paypal IPN integration on multiple sites i do am quite worried now!

The IPN setup as well as PDT setup and the return URL are required.

But in Paypal there's just one input box for IPN and PDT and both URL's i had to insert into Paypal's settings.

So my actual worry is that people who buy a Membership on the 'old' blog will now be redirected to a page which belongs to the 'new' blog and stuff like that.

Is it possible to run s2member on two blogs and did i do everything correctly?

I can't even test it i have no funds on my Paypal balance!

Thanks again for coming to the rescue!

Betty

Now i wonder if it's even possible to use s2Member on two different blogs and so i set everything up so that the last blog in which i installed s2Member should work fine now ..

But what about the 'old' blog ... In Paypal i had to 'override" both URL's (for IPN and for the Return URL) ...

I even went on over to the s2member Multisite settings area but i got a warning that this is not enabled in my situation ... and i don't even know how i could enable this and if it will help me ...

Are you sure this won't compromise my Membership setup from the first blog i installed it on?
