hi guys,

i am new to the plugin, altough i want to comliment the developers, this is a great plugin.
I am thinking in buy the pro version, but i am having a bit of trouble configuring my blog. What i want to do is the following please let me kno if is possible.

- ppl not registered as members will not have access to certain categories in the site.

- I want to have a free level membership so this ppl can browse this categories and buy one time fee products or subscriptions. When ppl subscribe to this monthly payment membership they become member of level 2.

- i have 2 types of paid subscription depending on the product the person choose, so a level 3 is required.

- I want to have a section where ppl buy a 1 time fee video course and can acces the video course online without downloading to the computer, this section where the video is will block the login of users accessing the video course page from more then 1 ip.

Can you pease help me with this?

many thanks
Please let me know if this

Could you explain again what you try to do there?

You mean have the person click the payment button, complete payment and then be taken to the download page with the link to the protected file?

Got it.

What access restriction did you use to protect the download page that has the links to the files?

- i created a normal page without member level restrictions, as i read that somewhere
- then i went to specific post/page restrictions and add that page there under 'Specific Post/Page IDs Being Sold On Your Site:'
- then i went to paypal buttons and under paypa specific post/page buy now buttons i selected the page and created a button for it.
- then i placed my button under a post that is protected by member lvl 0.

what am i doing wrong?

thanks

I see.

Well, I was going to suggest using the success attribute for your button so that the person was returned to the specified URL after payment. WP Admin -> s2Member -> PayPal Buttons -> Shortcode Attributes (Explained) -> success

The problem is that a page protected with Specific Page Access Restriction can only be accessed with the link that is created for the buyer and sent to him by email after payment. You can't just return a person to such a page with a normal URL because it won't work.

What you'll have to do is either protect the download page with something else like a level or custom capability and then you'll be able to return him there after payment, or return the person to a thank-you page where you instruct him to check his email for the link he was sent with which he'll open the download page.

I hope that helps. :)

Well, it's not so much a problem if they can choose their password, but if that is generated by WordPress, then they won't know how to login.

Could you check that you server covers these requisites? viewtopic.php?f=36&t=2636

Could you show me the log entries for those transactions/registrations x'ing out any private data? You used a pro-form for them, right? You need to have enabled WP Admin -> s2Member -> PayPal Options -> PayPal Account Details -> Enable Logging Routines and after the transactions you'll find the log in the /wp-content/plugins/s2member-logs/ directory via FTP.
