Multisite with domain mapping issue

We have been building this site on a multi-site setup, and through testing it has worked fairly well. When we applied the domain mapping, nothing worked anymore. When we login, we are taken to the base domain admin area, but cannot access the protected areas at all.
Also, we toyed with the paypal button by changing the url to support the sites domain. We made back from paypal to the successful transaction screen, but registration page showed up and no account was created.
How do I fix this?
thanks

Thanks for reporting this important issue.I assume you're referring to this plugin, correct?
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wor ... n-mapping/Can you please post your log files for s2Member? We'll need to know what versions of WordPress, s2Member, and other plugins, such as the Domain Mapping plugin that you're using, along with as many screenshots as you can provide. You can enable s2Member's logging routines under:
s2Member -> PayPal Options -> Account Details.

Hi Jason,
We ran into several issues which forced us to move to a regular WP install due to a tight deadline. s2Member is working seemlessly, except for on devices that were testing using Safari before the switch to the new server. Other topics related to the cache in Safari seem relevant to that situation.
I'll see if I can get the logs. We do have logging enabled. I don't have access to their server. I will contact my liaison at the company and see if he'll provide the logs on Monday. As for screenshots, I don't know if that will be possible at this point. I'll see if they'd be willing to reproduce the situation on their staging server.
On the staging server's multisite setup, they had probably ten other sites and used the domain mapping pluggin. Everything worked fine until the domain mapping was applied to the site with s2member installed, as mentioned before. The s2member multisite option updates were applied when set up.
WP version: 3.1.3
Plugins: NextGEN Gallery, Memberslist, Event Espresso(several addons), Category Posts Widget, Custom Post Templates, Quick Page/Post Redirect, PS Auto sitemap, Simple Image Link, TinyMCE Advanced.
The other glitch, which I'll mention in case anybody else is running a similar setup and searches for it. The company's production server has their WP admin area inaccessible to public. I was unable to access the admin area remotely. The server has a different domain extension indicating an internal server. When we tried testing s2Member there, we just landed on a blank screen with the Paypal return code in the address bar. I believe this setup would never work since the Paypal info didn't seem to stand a chance to get back to s2member. Again, this was their production server. Our testing setup worked seemlessly until the domain mapping was applied.
Thank you for your response, Jason. I will try to get those logs to you next week.

Thank you so much for reporting back. I'll try to run some additional tests against this plugin before the next major release. In the mean time, if you can get those screenshots, or a reproducible installation for me, that would be very helpful as well, and may expedite a fix for the issue.

I setup a similar network environment on my own server using the domain mapping plugin. Registration works fine until domain mapping is applied. When the mapping is applied, I still have the same issues as before, and cannot access protected areas.
I'd prefer send logs and screenshots via email to keep the client information private. Please shoot me an email with an address to send them to. Thanks.

Thanks for your patience.Registration works fine until domain mapping is applied. When the mapping is applied, I still have the same issues as before, and cannot access protected areas.
We've run some tests against the domain mapping plugin, with:
- Code: Select all
WordPress v3.2.1
s2Member v110731
WordPress MU Domain Mapping v0.5.4.1
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/
Sorry, I've not been able to reproduce the error you mentioned yet. Everything seems to work fine with the configurations we tested. I'm attaching a screenshot for you, so please take a look at your earliest convenience and let me know if we need to modify our configuration in any way to reproduce the bug you described. I'll be happy to have a closer look for you.

Hi Jason,
The company had to move to a regular Wordpress install for various reasons. This issue was also present on my testing server. When I get a chance, I check the settings and post them.
Thanks
