Membership Options Page

Postby rnedd » June 28th, 2011, 9:50 am

I haven't been able to find the answer to this on the forum. I have a Wordpress site where I need to make one page a protected page where people will have to register to gain access. I've installed and activated S2 and gone through the videos and set up the Login and Membership Options pages, Login/Registration design, and Restriction Options for that page (Level 0 because this is free access). The Membership Options page that people see when they try to go to the protected page is an exact duplicate of my Contact Us page - layout, form, everything but the name. I've tried to change the template for that page but it still shows the template for the Contact Us page.

I want to change to a different template on this page and change the form fields (don't need a 'message' field for someone to register or login) but don't see where it is that I make those changes.

Anyone know what I'm missing?

Thanks,
Ron

P.S. The page in question can be found at http://twi.searchclearwaterhomes.com/fi ... gs-report/

Maybe you're seeing an old copy of the page from the cache? The Membership Options page I get is different than the Contact page.

Cristian,

No, that's the one i am seeing too. What I'm getting is a Membership Options Page with its form being a blog comment form, not a registration/login form and the template being used is the one on the Contact Us page which is not the one I chose. I chose a template for that page that had no sidebars and this is showing the 2 sidebars that show up on the Contact Us page.

I want to have the correct template showing and want to have "Register to Access the Report" instead of "Leave a Comment" - plus the form should be a normal registration/login form not a comment form.

These are the 2 things I'm trying to solve right now: 1) have the Membership Options Page use the template I choose and 2) have a correct form showing on that page for people to register/login.

Sincerely,
Ron

Hi Ron.

Temporarily choose another page as the Membership Options Page to make sure it's not s2Member what's causing you trouble here, then edit this one until it's the way you want it, and then set it again as the Membership Options Page.

Hi Cristian,

I set up another page and formatted it like I wanted and then set it as Membership Options page. It kept the template I had used but when I tried to change the template it would not change after making it the Membership Options page. So at least now I know to choose the template and format the page before making it the Membership Options page.

Now that this is fixed the problem I am running into is there is no registration form on this page. I've done all the General and Restriction Options but could not see anywhere how to get the form to show on that page. The only form that I see is when I try to login to Wp Admin. On the Membership Options Page there is no form, whether I am logged in or logged out. I can't figure out what I missed - it's probably something obvious but I can't see what.

Thanks,
Ron

I'm glad that solved the template problem for the page. About the registration form, the Membership Options Page doesn't include a registration form unless you put it there, but you can simply link to the standard registartion page.

If you have s2Member Pro and you want a registration form in a custom page, like the Membership Options Page, you can use s2Member Pro's free registration pro-form. WP Admin -> s2Member -> PayPal Pro-Forms -> Free Registration Forms

I don't have Pro since there will be no paid membership and it is only for one page. Did a search online and went through lots of pages to find info on how to get the registration form on the page and the only thing I could find was a way to get a link on the page to go to the registration/login form. That is working now.

Ah, that's good then. I had not suggested that thinking you really wanted the form and not just a link. Glad you solved it. :)
