503 error

I am getting random 503 errors when people log in.

I have to delete their account and re add them.

I have tried resetting their passwords but that doesn't seem to work.

Can't figure this one out.

They should only be getting those errors when they have tried to log into your site from too many IP addresses within the specified period of time (I think the default is 30 days).

Have you tried clicking the checkbox next to their username in the s2Members section of the Edit User form to reset the IP count?

If that doesn't seem to be the issue, then is there some error message accompanying the 503 error?
Hope that helps!
Bob

Kevin, this seems to be a problem with the server being overloaded temporarily. http://www.checkupdown.com/status/E503.html

It'd be good to contact your webhosting company asking them about this...

Unless the error message also mentions too many IP addresses, as in the screenshot here viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10415&view=unread#p22491

In that case, what Bob said is correct. Go to the user's profile, check the reset box for the IPs restriction setting and save. WP Admin -> s2Member -> Users -> Edit user -> Reset IP Restrictions

You can also change the limit for all users here WP Admin -> s2Member -> Restriction Options -> Unique IP Access Restrictions
