Encryption key - how can I tell if I enabled it?

Postby bkeller99 » October 21st, 2010, 9:41 am

Hello,
During my configuration and had clicked the autogenerate key. But I got a phone call and can't recall if I saved my settings after I generated my key. The documentation says don't ever re-generate the key after you did it once.
So How do I tell if I have a key or not?
thanks

Hi there. Thanks for your inquiry.

Just log back into your Dashboard and navigate to your s2Member -> General Options panel. If the key is filled in ( and the field is disabled ), you have a key already. If the field is empty, you need to create one.

In either case, if you're still testing things out, you can safely re-generate a new key. Just don't go live and have your site running for several weeks, and THEN change it. Not a good idea.
