Currently I have my site set up so members can join and get unlimited downloads - all of the links are protected on the products page, so they go to the products page and if they are logged in, they can download the files - if they are not logged in, they see the product and then a message saying to sign up and join to download.

But, I think I would also like to sell these downloads individually, which is where i need some suggestions and recommendations. S2member has it built in so I can protect individual posts/pages - but because I have the download links on the pages I cannot really protect them as people who were not members would not see what the product is.

I am looking into some wp- integrated shopping cart solutions, but so far haven't found anything that seems like it would do what I need to do.

Ideally, what I'd like to do is just throw in some code in my theme that will place an "add to cart" button on my single.php page with the price defined by a custom field - and then after they add items they would be able to see their cart with the products they have in it, then after they check out they would come back to the site where they would get the links for downloading...

Is this possible with s2member? Or should i look into some other type of ecommerce script or plugin I could integrate easily with s2member?

You could look at ShopperPress, an e-commerce shopping cart/theme designed to work with WP. It's very good, and easy to use, but I don't know if it'll work with s2. Don't really see why it shouldn't, so could be worth a try.

Thanks, I looked at that one I remember using their demo awhile back (it was free when it first was released) - might be worth another spin.

I do something similar and use WP E-store. It plays nice with the S2 plugin (no conflicts). You would just create a separate "buy now" or "add to cart" button for each download file. So on my site I have 2 buttons for each download...a member's download button and a buy now button. It works well.
