The concept of S2Member connecting with Aweber

I believe that I have done the appropriate configuration to get S2member talking with Aweber.

I have set up 2 lists on Aweber, one for free subscribers, and one for paid (level 1) members.

I have told S2member about these two lists.

I already had a bunch of WP users, but they are not appearing on my Aweber lists.

So I have some questions.

1. How does S2Member get my existing users into my Aweber lists? Or do I have to do something manually?
2. When a new user registers with my site, and S2Member tells Aweber about it, does Aweber send that user the double-opt-in confirmation email? (I'm concerned, because that user may be there because they're on one of my other Aweber lists, and they might get annoyed at having to opt-in twice for the same website.)

I did search the forums, and the answers to these questions did not leap out at me (grin).

Thanks

Judy

Awebber cannot add existing existing WP users , they have to subscribe first. This is a functionality on the awebber side so we don't send information to people who have not requested email communication. it not a smember problem its awebber

I don't think it's a aweber problem because in one of the primos videos I heard that using api list and connecting it with email parser in aweber settings "some how in the process" selecting payal in the parser's option can be use with any membership level in the wordpress registration process. So, I went to aweber support and they told me that the parses is for eCommerce integration not for membership. There has to be an option, function or integration with aweber from s2member in order to reach aweber list not the other way around.

Hi Judy :)

Let me try to answer your questions:

1) No, s2Member doesn't do that, you'd have to export your members list and then import it to AWeber manually as part of setting up the service.

2) Yes, AWeber does this and s2Member can't help it. Give them a reward for confirming the subscription so they don't get angry.

Here's something Jason mentioned regarding AWeber allowing importing subscribers without double opt-in.

Jason Caldwell wrote:Not yet. However, I recently noticed that AWeber has improved their APIs. I'm going to give them another month to work the kinks out, and then I'll see if s2Member's integration with AWeber can be improved upon. Once ( and only if ), a way to accomplish email address injections directly into an AWeber account becomes available ( bypassing the confirmation email ), then we'll make every effort to integrate that functionality with s2Member. To my knowledge, this is not yet possible. If you learn that it is, please let me know though.
