[Solved] I'm missing something important

I know this thread is really silly, but I'm not sure how I can do this. I really did look through some docs. But, here is the question:
Right after I configure the membership signup page, every single URL request gets redirected to the membership signup page. I have only set one category in the restriction panel to be access sensitive, and all other options (pages, posts, URI, etc.) are all left blank and I "assumed" the default behavior would be to allow public access (visit without login) to these items.
But this is not the case. Later, I also tried to use the word "none" to allow public access, but no luck.
When I visit a page, under the 'Page Level Restriction?', it says 'Level 0 (already protecting all pages)'. Level 0 is actually for free subscribers, but it requires user to sign up. Again, I don't need visitors to sign up to view these pages, so:

What should I do to allow public access to these pages? I really need them to be seen by visitors just passing by.

Regards,
Angela

Hi Angela.

Could you please post a screenshot of all the restriction panels? WP Admin -> s2Member -> Restriction Options

Here is the screenshot, I actually found out that I have "all" configured under page access restriction. But what I meant is to restrict access to all posts belonging to a certain category, whose ID number is 1. And that was the configuration I had for last night, except now, it doesn't even show up correctly.

Right now, in the category access restriction, it's showing up just with the category ID of 1. However, users haven't logged in yet still can't access the publicly available pages even though under the 'Page Access Restriction', it's empty now.

Got it. The "all" at Level 0 for pages is why visitors couldn't see them. About categ 1 at Level 1 still having the posts visible, please watch this video http://www.s2member.com/content-restric ... ble-video/

I can't access Youtube here, but I'm pretty sure that the "after" configuration should be correct (and if I clear out the page restriction options), right? but I have been keeping refreshing the page for the past 30 minutes, and every time it just redirect me to this membership signup page.'
I don't know, am I too impatient or the do I still need to work on the config?

Regards,
Angela

About your "after" config., I don't know. Could you post screenshots of it? I believe the ones you posted above are the "before" ones, right?

Try this copy of the video viewtopic.php?f=36&t=2851 I hope that helps.

Actually, the second screenshot is the after config I just made about an hour ago. All other configurations on the restriction panels are cleared.

I also have a couple other issues I wish to discuss:
- Can s2member allow me to modify my login form? The one that comes with WP? I would like to add a 'Forget username' to the form.
- I checked the option to force user to redirect to the profile page I created for them, but what about authors and administrators like me? Would we still be able to access the backend dashboard? Actually I want to know, if all of the options apply to more privileged account like administrator and author (like if I log in from many different IP address, etc)

Regards,
Angela

Yes, you can customize the login form a bit from here WP Admin -> s2Member -> General Options -> Login/Registration Design. What do you mean by "forget username"?

s2Member won't prevent access to the dashboard if that user has access to it. s2Member only deals with the front-end of WordPress, all dashboard access is standard WordPress.

You can test the above with the free version of s2Member, there's nothing mentioned there that's an s2Member Pro feature.

Sorry to reply such late, I'm still having issue accessing the public content of my site. It's only accessible on the computer where I configured WP, or when I log in with my admin account. I have re checked all my configs, and here are some screen shot of the current config.

Did you install this in your local computer or in a web server of a hosting company?

It's an online site that you can visit, that's the problem, if it's on a local server, I can customize as much as I want to, but online sites are different. Visitors are not seeing the pages.

Ah, ok. I think I understand now.

Could you please post a screenshot of your Restriction Options with all the panels expanded, please? WP Admin -> s2Member -> Restriction Options

A URL to one of the pages that should be visible but isn't would be good, too.
