Paypal Payment Failed

s2member has been working great for the most part, but I do notice we have a few members who's paypal payments are failing after the free trial ends. What causes this and is it related to s2member? A few of these people have purchased things from us in the past so its kind of unusual that they would intentionally make their payments fail.

Should i just collect the outstanding balance manually in paypal?

It is possible that for some reason the payment didn't go through. I don't know why their payments didn't, though, you should check that with PayPal.

Yes, you can collect manually and then update their profile with: the new role, custom capability (if any), the gateway, subscriber ID and EOT time (if any).
