That may be a problem caused by the theme you're using.

Could you please try this plugin https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/trueedit/ Edit its settings to disable every content filter except the do_shortcode one.

Let me know if that solves the problem.

Hello!

I am having a similar problem with PayPal Buttons. But instead of showing HTML comments, additional page brakes are added. When looking at the final HTML code I see that additional code has been generated. See for example the additional <br /> and </p> tags that have been added to the HTML:

<form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post">
. . . . < Lots of code removed >
<input type="hidden" name="p1" value="0" />&#8211;><br />
<!--<br />
<input type="hidden" name="t1" value="D" />&#8211;></p>
<!-- Displays The PayPal® Image Button --></p>
<input type="image" src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_xpressCheckout.gif" style="width:auto; height:auto; border:0;" alt="PayPal®" />
</form>

This results in that a lot of empty space is created, destroying the layout. I tried the solution with adding the trueedit plugin. It solved the problem with the Paypal button but instead I suddenly got a lot of " [raw]" codes appearing everywhere on the website.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I see. I wonder if those are added by your theme. Could you try switching to TwentyTen to test if that problem goes away?

You may want to try other settings in TrueEdit and see if another combination solves the problem when using your theme.

Tried with the Twenty Ten theme and the problem did go away. I believe that I have to assume that this is an incompatibility issue with the theme then?

Unfortunately I have already tried different setting with the TRUEEdit plugin without any luck.

Any ideas what else could be tried out?

I see, yeah, it's the theme causing trouble with the parsing. You should mention the theme developer the problem you're having with the shortcode.

You mentioned a [raw] tag earlier, does your theme have any documentation on it? Did you try wrapping your shortcode between [raw] and [/raw]? I'm just guessing here, but you can still try. I remembered another user mentioning his theme had that tag and he solved the parsing problem using it.
