Subdirectory members automatically add to main website

Hi,

I am wondering if there is a way that I can automatically add members from a subdirectory site to the main website on a multisite setup automatically. In the network settings in only provides options for the WordPress default user levels, I don't see the s2member levels added.

Thanks!

I'd like something similar. Network enabled so that all my sub site content can be protected but one place (preferably in the main site) to admin members, etc.

I believe there's another plugin that lets you do that, can't find it right now, though. :|

I don't understand what you want to do. Could you explain it some more, please?

Hi Cristián,

Perhaps I'm asking it the wrong way. I'd like a main site of a multisite WP installation to offer free information in the typical blog style. I do not want to charge for any content on my main site. Child sites will be created by topic. Approximately half of the content will be offered for free while the other half I'd like to charge for.

There will be many child sites that I would like to do this with so I guess my question is what is the best way to use/configure s2 to meet the requirements described above? Or, is this even possible?

Thanks so much Cristián!

Mike

Thanks Mike. OK, so you don't want to give your blogs to your users, these blogs will be yours to organize the content, is that it?

s2Member doesn't share settings between the blogs, each blog has s2Member work within its scope. You can configure each blog's s2Member separately. Would that work?

Hi Cristián,

Yes, that is correct. I would treat each child blog as a technical manual where I offer over half of the content for free while the other half accessible on a PayPal payment. My concern was that if a visitor purchased one subscription to one child site and then wanted access to a second site (another subscription) they would have to become a member of that site as well, and third, fourth, etc. and manage additional sets of credentials.

Perhaps I shouldn't even worry about the scenario I describe. Just thinking of how much maintenance this would entail.

Mike

I see. Well, WP doesn't share the users betwee child blogs by default. I think there are some plugins that will do that for you, though. https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/se ... isite+user
