I have installed and configured s2Member and would like my monthly subscribers to be able to pay using their paypal account if they have one, or with a credit card if they don't.
However, when you click the generated paypal button, the first thing it says on the paypal page is:
"You need a PayPal account for this purchase."
and offers radio buttons to the following 2 options:
-I already have a PayPal account.
-I need to create a PayPal account (where available)
So my question then, is: is it possible to accept credit card payments through paypal without requiring my subscribers to open a paypal account? My subscribers pay for monthly access to my site contents. I just dont want them creating a paypal account when they try to pay to subscribe. Thanks very much in advance for any help

I am no expert, but are you using s2Member Pro-form by any chance? I personally noticed that using the regular Paypal button will lead to a Paypal page that offers to either pay with Paypal or by Credit Card, while using the pro-form seems to require a Paypal account to pay with the CC. That is why, for now, i dont use that s2Member Pro feature and prefer the simple button shortcode. Cristian might chime in with another explanation though.

No, I'm nothing using the Pro. I also used the button shortcode that was generated for the payment button

The paypal account is necessary to handle the recurring payments.

I just checked it and it does have that option. This wasnt the case yesterday...weird

This is correct.
If you click the link shown in the screenshot above, you're given the options: login to or create your PayPal account. I believe it allows you to create the account and pay the subscription at the same time.
