Hello,

Is it possible to provide members with a license key which is stored on their account and is only valid when their a "valid" member (i.e. have paid) and if they dont pay, the license key is set as "Expired" etc.

Is there a way to do this with S2member?

s2Member doesn't do that, but I'm sure you could have someone create this customization for you. What is the license key for?

The licence key is for a piece of software that I will be developing.

I don't know. You need a script that generates and manages the keys for each user. You can use s2Member's Notifications API to call your script. WP Admin -> s2Member -> API / Notifications
