Install of s2Member Pro fail

Just purchased s2Member Pro and am very disappointed to find that it's not showing up or working. I installed it two different ways, three different times. It does not show up in my plugins list, nor do any of the "Pro" options.

I first installed it manually. That didn't work.
Then, I installed it automatically and got an error about a missing header.
Tried manually again. Still doesn't work.

For such a promising plugin, I'm bummed about the lack of answers to my questions and now the Pro version isn't working.

I would be very appreciative of some assistance.

Thanks.

Hi, I'm not sure what could be wrong but I am sure the support will want to know what version of Wordpress you are running.

thanks for your reply. I'm using 3.1.3. maybe i should update. what's weird is that the free version seemed to work ok except for some cookie/redirection issues, but I have never seen any log files. where are they supposed to be saved to? i wonder if my host's permissions are too tight...

The logs are in wp-content/plugins/s2member-logs

well that's interesting. i assume that s2member-logs is a directory? or is it one file with a bunch of data stored to it? either way, it's not showing up for me.

Oh, I just realized... That directory is created when you activate the plugin but since your issue is with installation I have no idea where the logs might be.

@Randomizer, is the directory created automatically or does one have to create it and chmod it?

Thanks,
Bob

thanks I finally got it to work. I had to delete the plugin and reload it, then upon activation it created the log files. thank you for your help.

Maybe you can answer this question for me.

If people (either level #0 or level #1) have registered at some time in the past, they then come back to the site and are NOT currently logged in. They then, click on a protected post (either level #0 or level #1), what is supposed to happen?

a] are they supposed to be redirected to the login form since they shouldn't need to signup again?
b] or are they redirected to the Membership Signup page again, where they need to click again to go to the login form, then login?
c] and once logged in, are they redirected to the post they're actually looking for, or do they have to go through that Members Options page again?

It's a great plugin with a ton of potential, it's just kind of a clunky navigation flow if by clicking on any protected content, it keeps bringing the visitor to a signup form again. It was my impression that cookies would be set and they would redirect an existing member to the login form then to where they're trying to go...

Hi Bob. I answered the last post in the other thread. :)

About the activation, I'm glad you sorted it out. Thanks Randomizer for your help.

Regarding the logs, for s2Member to create the log files you'll need to enable loggin first. WP Admin -> s2Member -> PayPal Options -> Account Details -> Enable Logging Routines

Sorry for not answering during the weekend, I was away.
