Paypal credit card renewal functionality...

Hi guys,

If a new user pays through Paypal with a credit card, they have to set up the Paypal account for recurring payment purposes, correct? My question is, upon renewal, is the same credit card charged, or does the user have to do any additional setup in their paypal account (ie- connect a bank account/credit card)?

Thanks

Hmm... I'm guessing the same card will be charged, unless he changed it at some point. I'll ask Jason about it, though.

I'm hesitant to answer this, because "we" are NOT PayPal, and they might change this arbitrarily for all I know. That being said, from my experience, the new PayPal account is opened with the credit card they supply during checkout. This credit card would be the only funding source associated with their PayPal account, and thus, would be the only card capable of being used for future payments. That is, unless your Customer logs into their PayPal account at a later date and adds/removes/changes funding sources associated with their "Subscription" to your site. I think this would be a great question to ask here though, just to be thorough: https://www.x.com/threads
