S2 and Clickbank affiliate sales

Hi all. I have a question about how S2 handles clickbank sales when the button/link was generated by clickbank and not S2.
Obviously when an affiliate generates a hoplink from clickbank, it won't have the membership level being purchased in the link, just the product ID. How does S2 handle sales this way when we're restricting content based on level?

Thanks for your inquiry.
Sorry, in the current release of s2Member Pro ( at this time, s2Member Pro v110731 ), this will NOT work. ClickBank Button Codes generated by s2Member MUST contain "s2 Vars" as explained in your Dashboard, under: ClickBank Buttons -> s2 Vars. If these variables are not passed ( i.e. someone attempts to create a direct link to ClickBank without first going through your website ), post-transaction processing on the part of s2Member will fail, and the Customer will not be able to gain access. You will have errors in your /s2member-logs/clickbank-ipn.log file to this effect.

Jason,
Thanks for the quick reply. Is there any way to code it so that the return URL/post from ClickBank could send the proper name/value pairs?
Being that some affiliates will just generate the hoplink at Clickbank without even bothering to get the button code on our site, I foresee a lot of headaches in the support area from this.
I guess more specifically, my question should be - is there any way to configure S2 so that affiliates can create their hoplinks on ClickBank and have it still work?

Most affiliates generate HOP links that deliver a visitor your sales page. No problems there. The problem comes about when/if someone attempts to circumvent your sales page. Does that help to clarify? Unless I'm mistaken, I don't see that as a major issue, because visitors really need to come to your sales page first anyway, to see exact details about what they're purchasing.
