Can't buy my Product - S2 says the ID is an Administrator

Ok, I generated a buy button in S2 for my clickbank product and copied the link. Next, I popped into Clickbank and generated a test credit card and copied that information. I logged out of my site, cleared cookies and shut down FireFox. I then opened up IE, cleared cache/cookies and purchased using IE.

The clickbank transaction went fine. However, I can't get past this error message:

ERROR: Unable to modify Subscription.
Please contact Support for assistance.

The existing User ID is associated with an Administrator. Stopping here. Otherwise, an Administrator could lose access. Please make sure that you are NOT logged in as an Administrator while testing.

This is a bit of an emergency - I'm trying to launch next week. Help!

Could it be that you have the same account listed in your ClickBank account settings?

I suspect a problem with the order button's link. Are you using the shortcode? Could you post here what you have?

Sorry for the delayed response. It turned out I had to nuke my cookies and cache several times over, then use a completely different browser. I was able to complete the test purchase, got launched, and our membership is growing. S2 is a great plugin!

Thanks for the kudos! :)

I'm glad you solved it.

Are you using the shortcode? If not, you may have it wrong. Could you post the code you're using for the button, please? Just want to make sure you have it right so all the right values are being saved for the member.

I've surely ran into some trouble. A heap of trouble at that.
I had basically created another directly, which housed
OptimizedPress for membership site with s2Member.

I had my sales letter with another installation of s2Member
installed on my root domain. My root domain is: http://www.keywordcentrics.com

The sub directory that I installed s2Member with another verson
of OptimizePress for a membership site is: www.keywordcentrics.com/keymembers

Now, the problem is when I take the shortcode from my sub directory
/keymembers to work on the root domain with my salesletter, so I can
use the "ClickBank" button it doesn't show.

I tried to take the HTML output that was given to me for my ClickBank button
in my sub directory, and it shows, but it does act right.

I get this error messages either like this:

Thank you! Your account has been approved.
The next step is to Register a Username for immediate access.

If you need assistance, please contact support.
Reminder: Purchases at this site will appear on your credit card or bank statement as: ClickBank® or CLKBANK*COM.

or

ERROR: Unable to modify Subscription.

I do know it could be because I have the ClickBank button from /keymembers (sub directory)
on www.keywordcentrics.com (root).

The thing was I was trying to protect my site as much as possible.
I wasn't having any errors with PayPal, so I didn't expect it to happen
with ClickBank.

I'm really frustrated because I had ClickBank reviewing the sales page,
which is the root, and they tested the ClickBank button, which is from
the www.keywordcentrics.com/keymembers (sub directory).

I didn't want to try and transfer what's in the sub directory
to the root because I'm afraid I might mess everything up
because I don't know exactly what to do.

You probably got that error because you copied the HTML for the button, including your admin ID because you were logged in when the shortcode was parsed. You probably also included your IP or the code to ouput the IP.

You should use the shortcode in the keymembers installation if you want to let existing users upgrade their account, or remove fix the parsed button outside of keymembers so it doesn't include a user ID to modify, and has the right IP address gotten from $_SERVER instead of s2Member's constant.

Let me know if this helps.

Thank you for responding. This is for a membership site. It's not an upgrade, so I am confused by
what you mean.

Also, I have the shortcode or HTML code in the /keymembers area because that's where I have the membership site. On the root directory www.keywordcentrics.com , I have the salesletter, and I need
the button to work for the salesletter.

To be clear I didn't have s2Member installed on my root directory www.keywordcentrics.com,
the salesletter is there, which I need the button to work from my sub directory www.keywordcentrics.com/keymembers where I have s2Member installed.

I then installed s2Member on my root directory thinking that might solve the problem,
but that didn't. So, it seems that the "shortcode" from my sub directory /keymembers
when used on my root directory for my salesletter doesn't get recognized as shortcode
and the output just displays the shortcode.

Hope that makes sense.

Thank you.
Gary

I mentioned upgrade because if you loaded the page with the shortcode while being logged in, your account could have been added to the ClickBank button URL in case of a modification, like when a free user pays and his account needs to be upgraded after the payment. Since you copied the HTML the shortcode output and copied that to be used in the sales letter, I thought maybe you had left some reference to your own account there.

Anyway, I see you changed the URL of the ClickBank button. Is it working fine now? :)
