It sounds like you might have a mixup between pages and posts...
if you go to the edit screen of that page or post, on the right side you should see a S2member section. Select the correct s2level restriction and update the page or post.

Does that help?

If I understand correctly, you mean "Require Level #0 (or higher)".
That level is for free/open registration. Set it to Level 1 or higher.

Also, you might find it easier to open two different browsers, for example Firefox and Internet Explorer.
In one browser you can be logged in as the admin to do your work and in the other you can play around as a user... This way you don't need to keep logging and out.

Hope that helps..

The only other things I can think of to ask are:
  • I presume you setup the security key and you are not seeing any errors?
  • If you look under "s2member" > "Restriction Options" > "Page Access Restrictions" do you see the ID of the page you want to protect listed?
  • Just for testing, have you tried the default theme or some other theme? It is always possible that there is a conflict between s2 and your theme.

And by the way, I was wrong. Level 0 can also be used to protect pages. I just never have used it that way.

It sounds like you have configured the Login Welcome Page incorrectly.
s2member > General Options > "Login Welcome Page" is usually set to a My Profile page or something similar.
s2member > General Options > "Membership Options Page" is set to the page which descries the various options people have for registering.

But it sounds like you are making progress...

I have not done anything with replacement codes but I read that to mean that you need to have a specific page named the same as the login name.
Does such a page exist?
I would suggest trying the system out with just a standard static page as the welcome login page.
Get that working an then try out the replacement codes.

Select the welcome login page from the drop down list of existing pages and see how that works before dealing with the more advanced replacement codes.
