Change color of default text value in form field "text area"

I need to change the text color for the default field value in the form filex text area.
The css style field in the options i'm putting as color:color: #344C01; but its not working why so

Could you post the URL of the page where you have this form?
Also, please post the CSS you wrote to edit the textarea's text color? Including the selector you used, please.

I did it correctly so now I can see the change in color- Thanks a lot
