Revenue Share Membership Sites

Hi!

I want to set up an wordpress multisite with the s2membership plugin. The idea I have is that I want the main site to work as a kind of a portal. The subsites should be run as independent membership sites managed by its own author and own unique content.

The set-up I want to accomplish is that I want the membership revenue to be shared between the individual subsite and main site owner. For that the main site will have an agreement with each individual subsite, deciding on the revenue share.

The idea is to let money from membership purchases to come in to one account but allow subsite owners to see the progress through an affiliate software or other kind of reporting.

What I wonder is, how can I easily keep track of membership purchases occurring at the sub sites with s2member, can I for example do that through an affiliate software or something? Is an affiliate software the way to go for this? Are there other, better solutions?

Thankful for any help

Hi Abbe.

The s2Member instance in each blog of the network will be independent of the rest, including the main site's. I thought I'd mention that so you keep it in mind when you're setting up the button to sell the membership in each.

About tracking the sub-blog, you may try using the custom values in the shortcode. WP Admin -> s2Member -> PayPal Button -> Shortcode Attributes -> custom

Or maybe add the blog's ID in the description. WP Admin -> s2Member -> PayPal Button -> Shortcode Attributes -> desc

There are tracking and notifications APIs, too, but I'm not sure how you'd use them yet. Here's a video so you learn more about them: http://www.s2member.com/api-tracking-no ... ons-video/

I hope that helps.

Hi!

Thanks for your answer. I am aware of that each instance of s2member is independent. Therefore all subsites will be set up centrally to keep everything configured correctly.

Regarding the custom values or the blog's ID in the description. Do you know if that information is passed on to for example an affiliate system like idevAffiliate?

Regards

The custom values you add to the custom attribute of the shortcode will be avaiable in the Tracking API, so you can pass that blog ID to iDevAffiliate, look at the replacement codes. WP Admin -> s2Member -> API / Tracking
