HELP! Can't log into back end S2

HELP! I can't log into the back end of my Wordpress site (with S2 member plug in)! It was working nicely for the past few days. Yesterday the site went live and many members joined it.

1:30EST update: I was able to get in by shutting down my entire internet connection. Then restarting, and I think it forced the IP to change. Please see below for my original message. If anyone could let me know why I experienced this, please let me know.

ORIGINAL MESSAGE:

This morning, as soon as I get to the log in page, it says "Max failed logins. Please wait 30 minutes and try again." This message is up in red BEFORE I am trying to log in. I tried to log in and it gave me the same message. I waited 30 minutes and it's still giving me the same message. There are items in the site that I need to update right now, and I can't get into my site. Please, please, please can someone help me resolve this. Is there a work around?? My concern is that there are many members that joined the site now, and they just keep trying to log in, and some are not getting it right. Or is the site broken? (I've never had an error in logging in previously)

Update: it has now been an hour and a half, and it still gives me the same error. Is there any way that I can get into my site????

I don't understand this. It's acting as if no matter which of the 3 administrator log ins I am using, the site still gives the same message. So is this message being given to ALL members who are trying to log into the site?

If someone could please get back to me asap I would really appreciate it. I don't understand why I as administrator can't log in after 2 hours. Is S2 broken???

Hey,


Looks like there hasn't been much activity on your post from a couple days ago. This happened to me a while back, well sort of and it was after a rather large launch. What happened was my Admin member account was downgraded to s2member1 level. So it could be similar to your issue where a level, or access area was kicked for some reason to another level. I logged into phpmyadmin and changed the wp_usermeta table row 14 wp_capabilities back to
Code: Select all
a:1:{s:13:"administrator";s:1:"1";}


If anything this may not get you fixed but it might head you down the right path. There's an registration ip on line 22 you might be able to do an inline modification and see if that clears it. There's a lot of stuff on the usermeta and it does look like S2 blocked you. Could be too many failed attempts from people trying to login to your admin account, who knows.

I'm sure this didn't resolve your issue but hopefuly it helps in tracking down the problem. I found that so much can be fixed from that phpmyadmin and so much can be broken as well, so be careful and always copy down the original stuff before replacing it.

I went into the plug in 'wassup' and it showed someone from China having the same IP as me trying to log in 2 days ago. This could've been the problem. Everything has been working fine since I forced my IP to change. My status was still admin.
