SSL/https continues when I leaving Billing page (e.g., home)

When I visit a page with the force SSL option on and then click the link to go back to my home page, https: is still enabled.

Is there a way I can configure my site such that SSL is only forced on when in pages requiring security, like the Billing pages and where other non-secure links (like home page) remain HTTP (no SSL)?

Apologies in advance if this is already explained somewhere, RTFM is an OK response.

That's odd. I just tested this and the link to my homepage doesn't use SSL. Maybe another plugin is causing that? What other plugins are you using?

Thanks for your help -- this was a configuration issue on the theme we were using, not an s2member issue.
