How to GET MY PayPal API Credentials ?

I am trying to follow the detailed instructions to set up the Paypal Account Details for S2.
I am asked to provide API Credentials:
So I go to PayPal -> Profile -> API Access -> Request API Credentials
Then i am asked which option I want:
1.) Add/Edit API PERMISSIONS
API Permissions takes you to a page that allows you to add 3rd Party Resources, such as an external website to paypal (like mine), but its looking for a validated API such as godaddy or google, not lil ol me.
2.) View API CERTIFICATE.
Viewing my API Certificate in this case, hmmmm well I can download it. And its quite a nice bit of encryption. However, its not what we're looking for is it, no its not.
Hmmm, now gosh, where is the ability to create an API Signature here...Hmmmm, gosh I wonder ?
Oh and in case you're thinking that this document (https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?&cmd ... 84E30I30RO), which you have to admit doesn't answer the question of WHERE IS YOUR API SIGNATURE LOCATED ??? and is just a little long in the tooth, but quite an interesting read on API basics and why SOAP is necessary....but again doesn't really answer the question.
