shopping cart with inventory levels

Postby antseo » September 13th, 2011, 9:29 am

What is the best wp plugin shopping cart to use with s2member or pro version? I need to set up a cart that will be easy for my clients to add/remove product, description, photo, pricing but also handles inventory levels. So if product x get below 5, as an example, the system shoots off an email to owner notifying them to replenish that product inventory.

I don't know if it's the best, but I'm currently using eShop as a shopping cart solution. We needed a lightweight cart solution; so far eShop is ok. It handles inventory, digital downloads, and multiple payment gateways. Pretty good.

As far as allowing members to add/remove products, the back-end interface isn't difficult, but if I allowed my members to add products (I don't), I would want to keep them on the front-end. For that I would use Gravity Forms with the Custom-Post-Type add-on.

The cons to eShop:
-- I have concerns about the impact to site performance - will deal with that shortly
-- It is a little troublesome to customize the store display - I've created a custom post type for "store product" to work around this.

Also considered:
-- just using Gravity Forms with the PayPal addon -- it was a little basic for my needs
-- wp-ecommerce -- I haven't completely eliminated it as an option, but it feels like overkill.

okay, thanks the comment. I was told that Shopp was an option to consider. Have you tried that one?

Sorry, I haven't tried that one. Heard it was good.
