Vimeo Portfolio Video Delivery

We have a Vimeo Pro account and have created a portfolio that has all of the videos that we'd like to show on the S2 member site. (This is a new feature offered by Vimeo).

Do you know if this solution will work?

Vimeo gives the below details on setting up the DNS to work this way. We want to know if the page that we host the videos on will be protected by S2 member and if S2 member will publish the video portfolio.

How do I setup my custom domain with my Vimeo PRO Portfolio?

As a Vimeo PRO member, you can use a custom domain name for your Portfolios (example: www.example.com). You can easily use a domain you already own, or purchase a domain name elsewhere, then follow these instructions. If you already own the domain name you want to use, you can skip step number 1.

Note: Unfortunately the Vimeo staff will not be able to offer support for all the issues or problems that may occur when setting up a domain. We strongly suggest asking a friend who has done this before for help, or see if one of your fellow Vimeo members can give any advice here in our PRO Domain Forum.

1. Purchase the domain name from a registrar such as GoDaddy, Me-Net, or Register.com. This can be done for about $10 per year.

2. If you want your Portfolio to live on your top-level domain such as “http://example.com” then you will want to follow the registrar’s instructions to set the domain’s A-Record to 74.113.233.155

Learn more about A-Records here.

3. If you want your portfolio to live on a subdomain such as “http://videos.example.com” then you will need to add a CNAME Record pointing to vimeopro.com

Learn more about CNAME records here.

4. You may have to wait up to 72 hours for these changes to take effect on the whole Internets.

5. You can test your domain by using the “check domain” link on the Portfolio settings page.

It's looking like we can embed videos individually into a page, but not use the custom url with any kind of S2 content protection. I'm curious what other sites are using to have a higher quality video delivery system, but also protect their content. Any suggestions would be great.

I'm not familiar with Vimeo's video protection or embedding. Does the visitor have to be logged in to Vimeo to view your videos or do you add a key so Vimeo serves the video? Could you post an example of the code you use to embed them?
