Adding Custom Registration Fields

I just took a look at your installation of WordPress, and I was able to reproduce the issue you described. Actually, the issue that you're reporting seems to be affecting many areas of your WordPress installation, and not just s2Member. It appears to me that one of two things are occurring.

1. You have another plugin or theme installed, besides s2Member, which is making attempts to intercept POST requests that occur within your Dashboard, and the routine that is intercepting these POST requests is getting hung up in some way.

Your PHP error log indicates there are existing issues with a translation plugin. So that might be worth taking a closer look at.

2. If you have already disabled all other plugins and reverted to the default theme, but the problem remains, it could be related to server configuration, or to memory allocation on your server. In which case you would need to contact your hosting provider and ask them why http POSTs that occur within your Dashboard are hanging. A review of your Apache error log should unveil the underlying cause.

Hi Jason, i forgot to mention that this worked on a the last version 2 updates ago, also i was not able to update the last version i had to ftp/upload the zip file and unzipped it on the server it would not update manually, if i remove the s2member plugin completely and reinstall it will i loose all of my data?

The JSON error that you're receiving is a result of your web server returning an error when trying to load a JavaScript file required by the s2Member plugin:
/s2member/includes/jquery/jquery.json-ps/jquery.json-ps-min.js?ver=111220-543157733

I suspect this is caused by the mod_security extension for Apache. I would suggest contacting your web host and bringing this to their attention. Also, please see this reference article for further details on this subject. viewtopic.php?f=36&t=14787

Hi Jason,

I deleted everything and started from scratch and i am getting the following error when trying to upload the s2member pro module


Installing Plugin from uploaded file: s2member-pro.zip

Unpacking the package…

Installing the plugin…

The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.

Plugin install failed.

Return to Plugins page

this is what happened the last time and i had to ftp it up to the site and since then that cause the issues with adding the custom fields can you investigate the module it seems to be corrupt.

That error would be expected. s2Member Pro is NOT a plugin, it's an add-on (to be uploaded via FTP). When you install s2Member Pro, you'll need to upload the directory via FTP. Please don't upload s2Member Pro through the WordPress Dashboard as if it were just another plugin.

That is strange as it always upload as a plugin and updated to pro without having to ftp it up. Anyway on another not this custom registration fields is really starting to bug me. I have tried to copy a list of countries from a text file and it will not accept them, i just notice that they were in capitals. Is it case sensitive as when i changed the option to lower case it accept the change weird?
No still the same it will not let me add in anymore that 3 lines please help as this is driving me crazy what am i doing wrong??????
Also is there a way of having 2 option on one line for registration i.e a dropdown menu first and then an option box beside it to the right e.g

dropdown menu here with option say aircraft >>>>an option box to the right of it on the same line asking for the hours flying.

To alter the layout you'll need to use CSS, maybe some JS.

About the custom field problem, I'm not sure I understand. You want to paste a list of coutries as options but it's not letting you? Could you post here the settings you chose for the custom field and past the list of options you want to use? I'd like to try it in my installation to see if I can reproduce your problem.
