Re-registering AFTER membership expires

Hello,

Re: S2Member Pro

I have a previous member (whose membership expired last month) who wants to re-register. When she enters her email address, username on the New Registration signup page, s2Member says something like: ‘this email address is already in use, please try another one’.

How do past members re-register so that the system recognizes them?

The thing is that her paid membership expired, but her account still exists, only demoted to free subscriber, which is probably the behavior you have in your setting for EOT (end of term). WP Admin -> s2Member -> PayPal Options -> Automatic EOT Behavior

That's why she can't register again with the same data, because it's already in use by her existing account. What she has to do is login to her account and then pay, that way the account will be upgraded back to the paid level and re-gain access to the paid content.
